It seems crazy to be writing this blog post whilst at home in lockdown due to Covid-19. However, this is where I find myself, sitting on the floor of my bedroom, planning and dreaming for how our small family-owned business will survive the next 6 months.

The saying 'we are all in this together' is now more obvious than ever. So quickly our little country has banded together and self isolated at home to stop the spread of the virus and support our essential health services. Businesses small and large have closed their doors, shut down their websites and been forced to reassess the way in which they operate.

As an eternal optimist, I have been trying to find ways in which to be productive with this time while also being mindful of our little family's needs.

Gathered.nz and the bricks and mortar store which we recently opened have been an absolute labour of love for us and we are so hopeful and enthusiastic about the future of our business. We view our store, both digital and physical, as a way to spread mindfullness and beauty to our community. Our products are carefully handpicked for their aesthetic and functional qualities, and always with a consideration to ethical manufacturing and business practice. We support a range of small individual makers and creatives with our custom and find nothing more fulfilling than hearing about how much you love your goods purchased from us.

I have used the time in lockdown to consider how Gathered will grow and move forward in what is sure to be an uncertain time for the next while.

We have had a little refresh of our branding, website and content.

Please take a look around our new, refreshed site and let us know what you think!
