after selling our property in august we did the rounds searching for an existing property in our home town, whangārei. we wanted to be a bit closer to town to make things easier with the kids and their sporting and after school commitments as well as reducing our travelling time each week. it was a priority for us for our home to be warm, dry and in a location where our kids could grow older and still feel connected to their friends and family as well as gaining independence into their teenage years.
there were a few properties which we were interested in but all of them seemed to have some big compromises which we weren't willing to make, too big, no heating etc and all for a fairly high price which didn't allow for any post purchase renovations.
out on a run one day I stumbled over a section just around the corner form my mama and dads place which was relatively flat and in a lovely quiet cul-de-sac in town. we popped in an offer and were lucky enough to purchase our land pretty stress free!
stay tuned for part 2...
